Ginezzo is part of the chain that divides the Val di Chiana from high Tiber valley. Starting from Mount Ginezzo, which is one of the highest in the area, there are several trails.Some remain at high altitudes while others go down to the valley.
The Pierle fortress is a two hour walk away. It was built in 1300 to defend Cortona from Perugia.
A Portole is the region closest to Ginezzo property.After a three hour, picturesque trail almost all downhill, you can reach the hermitage Le Celle Franciscan located in a ravine surrounded by forest.
For hiking lovers, getting to Lake Trasimeno is not difficult: after covering Sentiero 50 for about a 5 or 6-hour descent along a sunny ridge withceaseless breathtaking views, you will arrive at the lake and can jump in for a fun time.
Taking Sentiero 50 in the opposite direction will bring you to the beautiful castle of Montecchio where guided tours of the castle are available.
In addition to these paths mentioned, there are several nature trails where you can observe flora and fauna.
